Becoming a mother is one of the most profound transitions you will ever experience in your life.

It not only impacts the way you see the world, but also, and especially how you see yourself. During the busyness and chaos of these first months and years, it is so easy for a new mum to lose a sense of herself and lose perspective on her place in the world. There is so much to take in and process, but so little time and space to do it. Taking care of a little human is demanding and all-encompassing, and can drain you of all energy to the point where it feels that you have nothing left to give.

My name is Lineé van der Meer and I am a clinical psychologist based in Epsom, Auckland.

I offer a safe, supportive space where my clients can reflect on their unique motherhood experience and where I help them to process that which needs to be processed in order for them to grow and move forward.

Growth does not happen without challenge, and therefore I believe that early motherhood is a time rich in possibility for personal growth and development.

Consciously engaging with this process will ultimately lead to a richer, more delightful and rewarding motherhood experience that will benefit not only yourself, but also the little human/s to whom you are the world.

“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.

She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.” - Osho
